Room was exceptionally spacious, clean and well-equipped. The (interior) onsen was really good - I bathed three times and I enjoyed the entire bath with 2 locals (no one spoke a thing, so quiet) at any one time. One cannot ask for more for a hotel just 1 min walk from JR station, with multiple supermarkets/grocery stores/restaurants next to it. Most people would stay in Kyoto and come to Nara for a day trip. They should do the other way round. Unlike Kyoto hotels, the staff here have exceptionally good manners and all spoke reasonable to good English. The staff really made a big difference!

Good hotel a short walk (under 200m) from the train station in a less busy area. The room I had was quite small but comfortable - the bed occupied most of it, so a typical Japanese hotel for travellers. Very good value for money though. I did not use the onsen. Good laundry facility. Staff were quite helpful and their English is much better than my Japanese! Public transport very close by - the main bus area is just on the other side of the train station, from which you can get to all the tourist attractions.

Location was ideal: adjacent to the JR Nara station, yet isolated from the hustle bustle. A well-appointed grocery store was nearby as was a Starbucks located in a historic building. Hotel was similar to other 3-Star accommodations in Japan; compact yet full of modern amenities. Property was recently rebranded as a Spa, yet I didn’t take advantage of low-cost public bathing facility. Having a separate laundromat with microwave and beverage machine were added bonuses. Room had a work desk. WiFi was robust.

A simple and comfortable base right next to the JR station, making it really easy to explore this small but incredibly charming city. My rating suffers a little bit from comparison with one of the same group's Kyoto hotels, which had just a little more space and just a few more extra services like a self-operated baggage storage room - but that might simply be a function of available real estate. In the end, this hotel met all my expectations and I would happily stay there again.

The location to the train and bus station was perfect for us. The staff were really friendly and helpful, we chose a lead in room which was small and compact but had everything we needed, water was provided daily and I love trying out all the hotel offered pyjamas. The bus stops at Nara park which is 4 stops from the hotel and then you can meander through the park and city back towards the hotel at the end of the day.
